It seems easy for healthcare management companies to succeed. At some point, everyone needs some form of medical care, and those companies specialize in helping those patients. In reality, operating a healthcare managed company is a lot more difficult than people think.
For a start, today’s healthcare environment is complicated. So companies like InnovaCare Health have set out to change all that. By focusing on patient-provider relationships, InnovaCare hopes to create better models of managed care. This, in turn, will enhance the health and lives of their patients.
The leader behind InnovaCare’s latest developments is Dr. Richard Shinto. Dr. Shinto is a brilliant physician with over 20 years experience in managed care. He currently serves as President and CEO of the InnovaCare corporation. He used to serve as President and CEO of another company, but after that company’s sale, he dedicated all his time to InnovaCare.
Since joining InnovaCare, he’s led the company to many successes. His biggest accomplishment was earning InnovaCare the number one spot as Puerto Rico’s top managed care provider. As a reward for his work, the company named him CEO of Health Plans in Puerto Rico.
Like many renowned physicians, Dr. Shinto is still a practicing doctor. In Southern California, Dr. Shinto is a practicing internist and pulmonologist. Dr. Shinto is also a published writer, having written dozens of healthcare and clinical medicine articles. After earning his medical degree, he spent the next 20 years sharpening his corporate-physician skills.
Speaking of corporate skills, Chief Administrative Officer Penelope Kokkinides has plenty of corporate skills. She actually specializes in working with government programs like Medicaid and Medicare. She and Dr. Shinto differ in that she’s worked with InnovaCare before. Prior to her career exploration away from InnovaCare, she served as COO.
Like Dr. Shinto, she also has more than 20 years experience in the managed care industry. Her particular set of skills deals more with program development and implementation. At many of the companies she’s worked at, including InnovaCare; she’s developed their new health models and oversaw their operations. Most to her brilliance, she’s an expert at managing health care processes. She also focuses on improving every division’s efficiency and the entire corporation’s organizational infrastructure. In short, Penelope’s current role as Chief Administrative Officer seems to suit her.
